Registration
Registration
A person must be registered with the College in order to practice physical therapy and use the title “Physiotherapist” in Manitoba. This includes working as a physiotherapist; participating in a physiotherapy clinical placement; or taking or teaching a course involving physiotherapy treatment of the public and course participants. March 2018 Council Update: Changes to the conditions on an Examination Candidate license to practice in Manitoba

Effective Immediately:

At the March 2018 meeting of Council, it was decided that the following condition would be added to the Examination Candidate license to practice:

Must not practice acupuncture or dry needling, pelvic floor internal exam or treatment, and cervical spinal manipulations while on this register

This is in addition to the current condition of:

Must work under the Supervision of a fully licensed physiotherapist

Both Conditions remain in effect until the individual successfully completes Part 2 Objective Structured Clinical Exam (OSCE) of the Physiotherapy Competency Examination (PCE)
