Procedure:

1.  Applicants for student registration must submit:

a) The application form, completed and signed, along with the initial processing fee

The University of Manitoba usually provides CPM with a class list of all students enrolled in the physiotherapy program on a yearly basis. Other Canadian University physiotherapy programs will need to submit written confirmation that the applicant is a student in their program who has successfully completed all academic and clinical work to date. International students will be required to undergo a credentialing process to ensure that the education program of the applicant is substantially similar to a Canadian University physiotherapy program. CPM requires confirmation that the applicant is a physiotherapy student and not a student of some other profession.

c)  a criminal record check. (original,current within 6 months)

The applicant must also provide evidence satisfactory to the College that he/she has a level of competence appropriate to the particular circumstance.

The applicant must complete the release of authorization component of the form and then send it to their current regulatory body for completion.  The signed and sealed form should be sent to the Registrar directly from the current regulatory body. For those applicants who will be practicing physiotherapy outside of an educational course setting, a criminal record check and evidence of current professional liability insurance coverage should be forwarded to the Registrar.
    4. The fee for the Temporary Register is the initial processing fee and does not include the provision of a Reference Guide to applicants. The Reference Guide can be purchased optionally by the applicant.
